There's been some radio silence here lately. Jason sent me to Vegas last week for my birthday. I went alone and had all the time I wanted to read, shop, and eat. Except, I'm used to eating fast and usually while standing, so I had to remind myself constantly to slow down.

I figured it out, though. I was able to breathe, think, and do a lot of reflecting. I have some new posts planned and I hope to be able to start writing here more regularly, which has clearly not been the case lately. In the meantime, here's a few things I've come across.

Harriet Tubman will replace Andrew Jackson on $20 bills.

A moving tribute to Prince.

I don't force my children to apologize, and here's a case for why we shouldn't make kids say sorry.

I think Pope Francis is remarkable.

What if you accidentally raise a bully?

A list of things said to a person with an eating disorder that hurt rather than helped.

Do unmet expectations destroy relationships?

Have you seen these metro buses converted into mobile food markets?
My church's site to help refugees is full of resources and information for those interested.

Is your child ready for first grade according to 1979 standards?

This spider catcher would be great in our catch and release household.

Savior Barbie could not be more accurate.  Here is an article about the creators and intent behind it.

I tried to buy these shoes in Vegas, but they didn't have my size so I had to order them. They just arrived.

I loved this list of picture books about multi-racial families.

I think these chocolate chip cookie bars need to be made this weekend.

Happy weekend!
